I have just installed a Pioneer 106 DVD-ROM with PowerDVD software, everything was fine until I tried to play a DVD, I then got an error message which read:

ASPI for Windows is not available

Only a 32-bit CD ROM driver is supported.
Please amke sure a 32-bit driver is installed.

What do I do next? Anybody help me with this?

My OS is Win 98 FE.

I know Win 98 automatically installs a generic driver which runs the drive straight away and that's what it did. Is there a setting on my system that I have to change or do I have to install a new driver?

Thanks,

DMC

Try this ASPI 4.70. (***********.adaptec.com/worldwide/support/driverdetail.html?cat=%2fOperating+System%2fMicros oft+Windows+98&filekey=aspi_v470.exe) Good luck.
