I normally use tmpeg to convert the SVCD or VCD to DVD use the automatic VBR setting and quality 31 and then you will have about the max quality you can fit on the DVD. For the sound to convert to dolby digital you will need an encoder such as sonic foundry soft encode.

lotr new svcd on dvdr - should have it done for Saturday .
