gazzer12345 Mar 28, 2002, 06:43 PM dont wish 2 sound dramatic but each session am attacked 5-10 times per evening am protecred with norton firewall and keep it up to date is there anything else i can do ?thanks zack371 Mar 28, 2002, 09:50 PM What kind of "attack"?? Get the IP of whoever it is and report it to their ISP. . . Go here to find out what the ISP is - http://www.netsol.com/cgi-bin/whois/whois That should give you a starting point. -Zack uk_trader Mar 29, 2002, 01:14 PM Are you certain your being attacked are are these just connections blocked by the firewall. There are lots of harmless connections blocked by firewalls as well as people scanning IP ranges for trojans vunrable machines etc etc. If you could post more details of whats been blocked it might help. smurf2k Mar 29, 2002, 03:50 PM Would be a real help if you could tell us what ports the "attacks" are trying to connect to. I would'nt worry about 5-10 per nite I on average get around 80-100 Most are just useless internet packets with no-where else to go:D http://www.cdrom-guide.com/forums/imgs/schlaubi.gifI just need a stick about this big to make a fishing rod gazzer12345 Apr 02, 2002, 03:37 PM I'll try to find out what ports are being attacked but it pops up on the firewall as either back door seven, somthing orafice (cant remember the full name ) and trojon things will try to pay more attention and report results zack371 Apr 02, 2002, 06:56 PM Sub Seven and Back Orifice are very common trojan programs. is it saying you have them on your system, or is someone just looking for them?? It is not uncommon for people to randomly scan ip addresses looking for those trojans on particular ports. Any antivirus program should get rid of both of them for you if you do have them. . . How to get rid of Back Orifice - Here (http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/backorifice.html) How to get rid of SubSeven - Here (http://www.hackfix.org/subseven/) -Zack smurf2k Apr 02, 2002, 06:57 PM could it be sub7 + back orafice ? if so I suggest you goto www.moosoft.com and d/l a trial version of the cleaner and run it on your comp just to be on the safe side http://www.cdrom-guide.com/forums/imgs/schlaubi.gifI just need a stick about this big to make a fishing rod gazzer12345 Apr 03, 2002, 12:14 PM thanks for that gazzer |
