kyle5077 Mar 30, 2002, 01:09 PM no sodder at all? Int3g_Type_R Mar 30, 2002, 01:54 PM technically the no solder mod is the only one so far thegoatherder13 Mar 30, 2002, 07:31 PM was there a no solder mod that worked good for the ps1? nooo u had to swap and still the stuff didnt boot B0SS Mar 30, 2002, 10:06 PM What we need is Self Boot ala DC! moddogs Mar 30, 2002, 10:33 PM Don't think so. The PS2 is much more complex than the PS1, so the chip really needs to be soldered to take control of the bios and inject codes and such. The no solder mod just simulates the knife swap, so it's not really taking control of the machine. emagdim01 Apr 02, 2002, 01:39 AM no but one day there will be a no solder modchip for are brains that will make us smart enough to mod ps2s arselves lol emag wod_uk Apr 02, 2002, 05:05 AM instead why doesn't someone make a boot disc for ps2 like the psx change was for the playstation handyguy Apr 02, 2002, 11:12 AM wod_uk, Becuz the ps2 doesn't use a copyprotection scheme like the psx. There isn't really any way to answer the OP anyway, as who knows what version ps2 is in the future? littlejack Apr 02, 2002, 12:01 PM surely we should be planning on modding the ps3 - as soon as the plans are leaked... after all, the ps2 has been succesfully conquered, soldering is only a problem because of the lack of pads and so had to be soldered direct to pins. as long as the bios and such componants are soldered, there will always be the need for soldered modchips. handyguy Apr 02, 2002, 06:50 PM If you don't like solder, you can get a solder alternative. |
