I have just got a VGA adapter for my DC, and all of my old games aren't supported. Is there anyway for them to work? Can I apply a patch of some sort? Thanks

Not sure if this will work for all games but I know on some you can do the following. Assuming your VGA has a switch for PC/TV, set the switch to TV. Put a disc in and press Power. Just as you hear the disc starting to boot flick the switch to PC. There is also a way to ground a wire or something, but I don't know exactly how to do it. :blockhd:

Do you mean non-boot games when you say old games?
The best way of making your games work on the VGA adapter is to make them self-boot. However if the game itself doesn't support VGA compatibilty then it still wont work. To fix a game that doesn't support VGA can be done in two ways though neither are guaranteed to work. 1, you can burn a new copy of the game with a edited IP.bin file by opening the file in IP.bin in IPBIN4WIN and ticking the VGA box. 2, there is a boot CD called DC-X which boasts about making some non VGA games work on VGA.

I have successfully made some games VGA compatible by using the echelon self boot method and checking the VGA box in the ip.bin file.

Gauntlet Legends, Bust-a-move4, and a couple of others work now and look superb !!!!

Just try it as ya got nothin' to lose !

Good Luck

It does work, however it appears some games need further patching or something even though they boot up succesfully, they work in a different display frequency, the case here would be Air Force Delta, I patched the Ip.BIN file in order to get VGA support as well as self-boot capabilities, the game does start and goes all the way to the main menu with no problems except there's no image (you can still hear everything), my monitor presents and out of operating frequency error, similar to what you get when you run the original utopia boot disc, if I'm not mistaken horizontal frequency was around 15 khz and my monitor supports a minimun of 30 khz horizontally.

Does anyone know which file on the actual game controls this behaviour?
