I had some datasafe ones and they are jerky as hell for ps2 games. I was told that they had the new foirmware to allow 2x aswell but only 1x when i burnt them. Best to stick with verbs which i do or apple which are recommended aswell.

Ive tried most branded and unbranded DVDRs for both PS2 and movies played on the PS2. The only cheap ones that work for me are the £2.50 (2nd generation FWS) ones from Nokia Needs. SVP are doing Verbs for a fiver now if you want branded.

I used quite a few brands and found Nokianeeds' FWS discs great. Princo, not so good.
Viastar unbranded are suprisingly good too - from bigpockets.co.uk

i have used NokiaNeeds 1st generation media for movies and they work great on the PS2 however when used for PS2 games they tend to fail - GTA3 and Metal Gear Solid 2 both stutter - however silent hill 2 runs great
