I just ripped Kiss of the Dragon and placed all the files into a directory called KISS.

When I highlight it and select properties it says its 4.34gb.

When I go into the directory and highlight the ac3 and and m2v files it says 4.3gb

I use Spruce to author it and go to burn it but it comes up with the following message:

NOT ENOUGH FREE DISC SPACE IN THE MEDIA OR THE DISC DRIVE SELECTED FOR EXPORTING YOUR CURRENT PROJECT.

Under export size it says:

PROJECT SIZE: 4.48gb
PLAYER: 5.99mb
SPRUCEUP TRIAL: 27.50mb
TOTAL SIZE: 4.50gb

What am I doing wrong???

Cheers

In Spruce, on the export page, click advanced.

This will open up loads of new options.

Uncheck, the player and uncheck the spruceup trail. That'll free up a little space.

Try it now m8, fingers crossed !!

Tried it and it cuts the total size to 4.48gb

I don;t understand as the DVD-DVDR guide says if the 2 files add up to 4.30gb then it should be ok.

Any ideas??

I would use VOBSplitter (available at doom9.org) to cut off some of the end credits to free some space... its either that or re-encode at a lower bitrate. Just load the m2v into vobsplitter and set a start point and an end point... and hit run

Hehehe, lovely person... Thats funny. Ya.. cutting off some of the end credits can really save you some re-encoding time... Works well. Who needs credits anyhow...i usually turn the movie off right when the credits start (as most sane people do)

its easy man. Just start it at zero... and end it jsut a tad before the end... that will cut some off the end...

IF the total size is 4.48GB it will fit what you need to do is intstead of burning with spruceup make an image or a file set then burn with Prassi and it will burn providing its 4.48 or under.

You basically set up your project as normal in spruce up but where it says output to Pioneer DVD103 ....... or whatever..... you click the drop down to create image file then type in a name for the image file and then hit burn.
If you are having problems creating an image file then just create a "titleset" which basically creates the DVD in the directory spruceup working\video_ts you then need to cut all the files out of there paste them into the VIDEO_TS directory which you will jhave created on your C:\ root directory. Then open Prassi create a DATA DVD add the folders AUDIO_TS then VIDEO_TS make sure you have created the directories in capitals as some players won't play them other wise. hit burn and you should have no problems.
OK for you ?

choose disc image in spruce.. its at the end when you are compiling/burning. Choose disc image as a pose to compile

if you choose image on spruce you may have aspect ratio problems ...best to use ifoedit first.

I created Title Set with Video_ts & Audio_TS but spuce up is Demo and
wont export ac3 file... The Video_TS file has VOB files in it......
How do I get audio added to my Audio TS file. I want to burn to DVD 4.7g

(I tried imag with Prassi First but the Movie Training day Was Larger then 4.7g, So I ripped it and Re-sized the m2v file, know I want to Burn the m2v file and ac3 file to DVD What do I Use)

As I already stated in another post, the audio is in the VOB files, just as it was on the original.

So why is it when I play it before I burn to DVD it doesnt have Sound?

Nefarion
Apr 06, 2002, 01:34 PM
Because spruce up (being the demo version) will not let you test the sound. But once you burn it, the sound will be there.
