using sony 16X dvd reader on windows 2000 upgrade from win 98 second ed on amd athlon 1.2 using prassi primo to read and burn reading from a princo dvdr here's the problem it starts to read for a little bit then i get an error message saying command 28 sense 03 ASC:02 ASCQ:01 ANY HELP WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED THX

I've tried 3 different brand readers Liteon/Pioneer/Sony and they are all a bit pants. A lot of the time the only answer is to use the DVD burner as the reader. It's slow but works.
It generally boils down to the quality of the media used in the first place.

My readers rip good quality DVD-r at top speed Apple/Verb/Nokianeed 2nd gen all rip fast as you like. Other unbranded cheapies tend to be a bi+ch and have lots of read errors to boot.

Rest asured it's nothing to do with your setup though

Had the same problems......I would say its down to what you are reading off..in the 1st place....Have you tried other dvds to read from?????
I cured my problems when I bought Nokianeeds £2.50 disks....they cured all my problems...PS2 as well.......try one...you have nothing to loose:)
