if i were to put 3 SVCD movies (.m2v) on a DVD-R disk (lets say using nero to burn this, complete with menus), would my dvd player treat the DVD-R as if it were like a regular SVCD on a CD-R ? (sorry if that reads a little confusing)
or because of it being a dvd-r, does it search for .vob files and demand certain bitrates ?...

Best thing to do m8 is to convert these svcd films to dvdr format which in turn changes the bitrate into the dvd specification ranges.
It could be a little confusing just to stick the m2v's on there !!

i would to like to know this,
i wanna be able to put svcd's on dvd-r disks to play in my dvd player, but i dont want it to be laid out in vobs etc because i wanna be able to copy on to cd-r without ripping the hole dvd,
the perpose for this is instead of using 4 cd's (LOTR) just use 1 DVD-r but be able yo copy each disk on to cds when needed.
anyone have any feedback?

its basically the same question that i wanted to know....
i dunno if people do this
the main purpose would probably be for the sake of SVCD music videos
you could hold like 40+ high quality vids on a disc...
that would be awesome (in theory...if it even works)
im pretty sure that the dvd-r can ask just like a big CD-r (if u get what i mean)

A DVD-r can act like a big CDR on a PC, for a DVD player it is different, this is why so many people were having problems with mp3 DVDr's.
