CousinFizz Apr 09, 2002, 01:21 AM I was able to get the game but am tring to WinRAR it...the thing is everytime I extract it the .bin and .cue aren't there in the file. It looks like the board doesn't have it (the small cue file, patch maybe)) where I got it. Is there a file maybe someone has that will allow me to do what needs to be done?? Any help would be great... thanks. And thanks again on Tekken 4....later, CFizz
Otherwise I just have the raw files after the extraction on my HD....
Or please send it here... cousinfizz@yahoo.com :D
TreFacTor Apr 09, 2002, 05:35 AM i had a problem unraring this and deus ex and street fighter ex 3... winrar wanted to unrar them all 2x's replacing the files that it created the first time.. i canceled by saying no to overwriting all (winrar said it didn't extract anything but ti did)and burned... deus need a patch but street fighter ex3 was fine. haven't patched pirates yet... but the burn was fine...just froze on the loading screen because it was unpatched.
using the swap trick mind you... not a moded console.
CousinFizz Apr 09, 2002, 06:44 AM Yeah, Pirates and SOE are causing me alot of problems... I've taken the D/L of them and run the WinRAR (extraction) and put the files or .bin in a folder on my HD... I go to find the .cue sheet with CDRwin and there isn't one. I don't get it. Is there a fix for these 2 games like Tekken 4?? Tekken worked great after the fix but these 2 are downright tough...... Thanks for any help.... CFizz
I found a no-mod patch for Pirates but it doesn't seem to help....
Everitt Apr 09, 2002, 06:50 AM use winrar3

CFizz there is a patch, but i haven't applied it yet look here:

CousinFizz Apr 09, 2002, 07:18 AM Ok, I'll see what you can do ..... I'll also try WinRAR.... anything at this point will help. Thanks, CFizz :)
Yeah, TreFactor... I was just over at that site for the pacth and it didn't seem to help unless I've used it wrong. Let me know what you did if it does indeed work......
The 2nd site is cool too, just no help.......
CousinFizz Apr 09, 2002, 07:47 AM BTW, WinRAR 3 (beta5, english version) didn't help... all I have is the files in a folder again, extracted, no .cue sheet...(on both games)
gnie Apr 09, 2002, 08:40 AM u can create ur cue sheet
open new notepad
copy this text and save as kal-plbk.cue
FILE "kal-plbk.bin" BINARY
TRACK 01 MODE2/2352
INDEX 01 00:00:00
CousinFizz Apr 09, 2002, 08:54 AM I'll give it a try.... thanks. Did you get it to work over there? Take care, CFizz :)
You just drop it in the D/L right? Or that would be the extracted files...? later...........
It didn't work after all that........ :( (the .cue there you gave me)
TreFacTor Apr 09, 2002, 09:19 AM open winrar select the folder the rars are in
select all the rars***31 in all kal-Plbk.01-.031(exluding pars if there are any) and extract the folder that you want to exract the files to and extract
***all versions of winrar that i tried all tried to unrar the bin and cue 2x's at this point winrar asked if i wanted to overwirte the existent bin and cue i clicked not to all and the bina and cue were in the slected location.***

booboy2 Apr 09, 2002, 09:38 AM CF, if you are just having a problem either using or creating a cue sheet, can't you just use nero as I think it does not need a cue sheet and just burn it?

CousinFizz Apr 09, 2002, 11:00 AM Well, I'm not sure what you mean here. I've followed you all along but now I'm not sure... The notepad? How would this affect the CDRwin program? I hope you can explain. And what do I delete? And what do I put in it's place? Thanks for all your help... I'll be standing by, thanks... CFizz
Thanks gnie, I'll try that... but when I've tried in the past I get coasters unless I just do a 1x1 of a game. You guys are great! Thanks again!
CousinFizz Apr 09, 2002, 11:10 AM It seems to be doing the job.... we'll see in a little while.... THANKS
NO... I got 3 coasters right away. The tray just comes out and the CD is ruined. :( I'm about to give it up...it's just not worth this...... CFizz
TreFacTor Apr 09, 2002, 11:39 AM give me the directory entry where you bin and cue are stored.
or open the cue file with note pad or word pad and copy and paste the contents here.
or change the extension of the cue file to .txt open it ,copy the contents and paste it here.
e.g.kal-plbk.cue change to kal-plbk.txt
then open it, copy and paste here in a post.
CousinFizz Apr 09, 2002, 11:43 AM The Tekken one was just in my briefcase.......
but this one is in a folder at: C:\WINDOWS\Desktop\Briefcase\NEW (after WinRAR ed)
BUT the D/L games are at C:\WINDOWS\Desktop\Briefcase this is before they are WinRAR ed..........
TreFacTor Apr 09, 2002, 11:47 AM where are the "winrared" bin and cue??
what is the directory path/folder that you extracted them to
paste the cue file's contents in your next post.
CousinFizz Apr 09, 2002, 11:53 AM I think I'll just have a buddy of mine just send me the backups since he most likely has them. I've been up all night and I'm back to square one and no futher along.... Thanks guys. If you have anything else that you might think that will help let me know. I've gotta get some rest......
I still don't understand the whole note pad thing but that's ok... it should be a simple click of the CDRwin button and they should load but it's just not the case. I'll get some more games later. Take care, CFizz :)

the cue file is just a txt file with the extension .cue
it tells cdrwin where the bin file is and what settings to use.
it can be opened using any doc reader/view by simply changing the extension.
the simplest being right clicking on the cue file and selecting open with
kal-plbk.cue>right click on it>select open with>select notepad
then you can view the contents. you can edit it just like any other text file
CousinFizz Apr 09, 2002, 12:00 PM They ended up here... C:\WINDOWS\Desktop\Briefcase\NEW
kal-plbk
kal-plbk.002 thur kal-plbk.031 and that's it.... 564 megs total.
Other than that since this is only my 2nd and 3rd time to do this I havn't a clue as to what else you mean, sorry......
((((((Oh, now I'm beginning to see what your saying.......)))))
gnie Apr 09, 2002, 12:07 PM kal-plbk.001 to kal-plbk.031
u open the kal-plbk.001 with winrar

CousinFizz Apr 09, 2002, 12:15 PM Yes, gnie I've tried that but all I get is an error prompt so I gave up on that... I opened the 2nd par or whatever it is there with the note-pad with your RED bianary code there and my computer had a fit.... And it's still freaking out. Oh, well I'm gettting over my head here and the computer is messing up so I have to call it a day...... thanks all!
I've done this before with no problems at all but now my puter just went weird on me so I think I'll cya........

CousinFizz Apr 09, 2002, 12:26 PM Yes, all the files check out fine. That's why I don't understand this. Before when I executed this type of thing it just went to the .cue sheet and all I did was click it, it took care of the rest and loaded the game on the CDr. (burned) Strange for sure. I'm learning you might say..... :D
As a matter of fact I still have that game, Tekken 4, and it still goes right to the .cue and burns it fine! I've burned it twice now with no problems at all.
I had to shut down and reboot because my puter had a fit. I also trashed the .bin and .cue file since it was the problem. I either start over or get some sleep and since I've had about 3 hours in the last 48 I'm calling it a day... thanks again....... CFizz
I'll do this tonight and hopefully this will do it.... THANKS!

CousinFizz Apr 09, 2002, 12:35 PM Ok, saved it to my documents and I'll give it a go tonight....... ;)

applying the patch will make an iso that he can burn with cdrwin... he'll need the patch so that it won't freeze at the loading screen.
1)@ cfizz open winrar
2)go to the directory where the rars are located
(if it's 3.0 open with the wizard it's a guy wearing a tuban on the toolbar)
3)follow the wizard to select the first rar then select a location where to extract the binand cue file... if not the default location will be on your desktop(no concern as it's easier to find there anyway)
4)after winrar is done it will open the folder where the binand cue are
applying the patch is pretty straight foward
CousinFizz Apr 09, 2002, 05:24 PM You say to apply the "patch"....? What patch would that be? We got around to a patch but never found out which one. I've been over to the site listed above and saw the no-mod patch for Pirates but that wasn't needed or didn't work. Any info will be of great help instead of all this re-programing of the CDRwin... thanks, CFizz :)
TreFacTor Apr 09, 2002, 10:28 PM CFIZZ,,, the patch is to be applied after you have unrared the binand cue files.(it's to be applied to the bin) in order for the game not to freeze at the loading screen. but first you have to successfully unrar the game if you follow the instructions that i left above, you'll be fine.
CousinFizz Apr 09, 2002, 11:01 PM But you haven't said which patch... the no-mod patch? And how is it applied? Sorry guys I've never done this before. The only game I've D/Led and burned is Tekken 4 and I patched that one before the extraction... Let me know which patch you are talking about because alot has been said here... thanks, CFizz :)
TreFacTor Apr 10, 2002, 12:22 AM it's the no-mod patch, it has to be applied after you have the bin and cue.

the no-mod patch that stops the game from freezing at the load screen.
only to be applied after you have the bin and cue extracted from the rars using winrar.
all of those are included in the patch zip when you unzip the patch to a folder and you open the folder you'll see a read me.txt this will tell you how to apply the patch to the bin and cue.... the patch process will make an iso that you can burn with cdrwin or anyother sofware able to record an iso image.

CousinFizz Apr 10, 2002, 06:59 AM Ok, I understand now..... Hey Merc, yeah I'm still here..... good to hear from you.
I just D/Led Pro Rally for PS2 and guess what? Yep, the CDRwin is doing it to me again. (no .cue file) It looks like it needs a patch as well. This patching stuff is though. It's to bad we have to go through all of this just to get a backup. See ya later and thanks for hanging in there with me on this Tre... CFizz
CousinFizz Apr 10, 2002, 07:35 AM Hey, Tre... I ran everything as you said and came to the end where ya Click Start. Well I got a ERROR prompt...
"ERROR: File length is not mutiple of the CDROM sector size."
Any clue as to what this is? I've come so far to back down now....
Thanks for any feedback... (Did this happen to you as you tried it?) CFizz
->Could it be because I didn't clean out the file after I patched it? I left all the read-me and PPF stuff in there. And if it is what shall I remove or clean out? Thanks.......
booboy2 Apr 10, 2002, 08:27 AM CF, I do not think you need to patch a game just to be able to burn it.
CDR Win does not care if it is patched or not.
Patches, as far as I am aware only allow the game to boot on certain mods on the ps2.
I am also very green on this side of things so if I am wrong please forgive me, and good luck and keep at it.
CousinFizz Apr 10, 2002, 08:56 AM Well, I reinstalled CDRwin and this version allowed me to come to the START to BURN the backup and all it did was burn the ISO... not the image. I confirmed it by booting it in the PS2... It boots but then goes wild because it can't read the game because it's not there. It should have taken at least 15 or 20 minutes to burn it but it burned in less than 30 secounds.
I'm still right back where I was.... any input? ....... cya :round:
booboy... when I try to go to the .cue with CDRwin on these 3 games it won't go to the file. After the extraction the .bin and the .cue files are missing and thus CRwin won't find it... I have only tried this with one other game and had no problem with it but these 3 games (Pirates, SOE and Pro Rally)are being a pain and I don't know why... The patch on the the Pirates game brings the .cue file up but CDRwin won't pick up on it. Any help? Thanks......... CFizz
booboy2 Apr 10, 2002, 09:14 AM That is strange CF, have you set the folder to extract the files to?
If you have then they will be on the hard drive somewhere, even if just in a temp file.
How about this...you now have the iso on a cdr, right.
use cdr win to create an image off this cdr, this should give you a bin and cue file (Put it on the desktop, or somewhere it can easilly be found), then burn the image in its proper form to another cdr using the instructions trefactor gave you
booboy2 Apr 10, 2002, 09:43 AM Here is a link to a tutorial for cdr win including patching and burning, it may help

CousinFizz Apr 10, 2002, 10:01 AM I've gotten the extraction done with WinRAR and the files are setting in a folder in my desktop briefcase... I open the CDRwin like it says here and go to the folder but it doesn't open on the area it's suppose to. And the START never comes on. I know I must have something wrong, but I used the 1st window on the left top on the CDRwin and was able to read the .cue on a game and it read it and burned it. I don't understand why I'm having all these problems. I will however try this again and see what happens. I'm so tired of getting coasters over and over again.... Thanks for your input and I'll let you know.
I've tried about 3 or 4 different ways to burn the files but each time it doesn't pick up on the iso... .cue and .bin....... :(
I just put the iso that I burned in my cdrom/dvdrom drive in my computer and yes the 556k file, iso file, is there... I don't follow what you are saying about redoing the disc but I'll give it a try nonetheless. The game is there on my HD and I do have the iso so all I need is the game to be picked up and burned... Thanks......
ALSO I'm having a problem with that window "EXTRACT DISK/TRACK/SECTORS" button, each time I click on it it says this is a demo. Then it tries to load and an ERROR prompt comes up and says the disc is NOT in the burner OR is not ready, which it IS... Then the area won't work. The START button will not come on even after I put the folder in there to be taken care of... very frustrating! (I got the START button to come on once and clicked it and it said ERROR you don't have the disc in the burner, which was not true, it was in the burner.) Do I need to get the full version of the program you think? I'll talk to you soon I hope because this is getting so old so very fast........ CFizz
I can't believe I'm having this much trouble over a video game or two... :hdspin:
gnie Apr 10, 2002, 10:49 AM hey i think u need the cdwin full ver
if u want to chat with me online, use ur yahoo messenger
cheers
CousinFizz Apr 10, 2002, 02:10 PM gnie...I got the WinRAR to work on that 001 file for Pirates and I saw the .bin ... When I was talking to you I crashed. sorry......
Anyway, now since I got CDRwin and trying to get to the .cue and .bin using it I get a promt that says this...
"No CDROM recording devices were found on your system." (and it won't let me in to the menus to setup for the burn)
That's to funny because it worked up until now. Nero never does that. I can't run Nero on this type of execution though. Any help on this? I've been FULL circle on this one. I cannot believe the problems I've encountered!!
Thanks again for hanging in there with me. :hdspin:
