TMPEGenc is not STABLE on my machine. 2 out of 3 tries to convert an ASF to VCD it will FREEZE my machine. At random locations in the process too. Sometimes all the way up to 94% it will freeze then I will try again and it will Freeze at 50%

Are there any TRICKS to keep the program stable?

I am closing all windows and programs. I am also keeping all my POWER settings to NEVER TURN OFF. And I dont have a screensaver.

HMMMM.

Really bites when Im almost done at 94% and then it freezes and I have to turn of the computer with the POWER BUTTON then reboot and start ALL OVER.

Help
Thanks

I am still having this problem. I have narrowed it down a little more. The SETTING I choose makes a difference on how often it FREEZES my computer. If I have it set to NORMAL or anything HIGHER it makes it freeze a bit more often. Is this program that unstable for any of you? Are you able to run aplications while you are converting? I cant. I have been leaving the computer to do the encoding and had no applications running and it still freezes in random locations.
HELP

thanks

Check this guide on TMPGenc settings (http://www.vcdhelp.com/tmpgencexplained.htm)

Also here's a trouble shooting guide (http://www.vcdhelp.com/tmpgenc.htm#problems) which suggests freezing problems may be related to the audio component of the source file & has methods of correcting this.
