will my sanyo dvd 7201 play dvdrs?went to a site and it says onlr certain discs.anyone tried them:rolleyes:

The reply I got from sanyo was "maybe some media".

It wont play Pioneer media or Imation.

Can you post the url you mention, Id like to see what brands it says.

thats my dvd player i have tried a dvdr and it worked for a couple of mins then stopped : NO DISK: it said also tried svcd and that did'nt work either.checked vcdhelper and on there it says:

dvdr's..........no
vcd's............yes
svcd.............yes( but not on mine)


personaly i'm going to stick with silvers

I just got a DVD-R of Rules Of Engagement to work on a 7201, here's what I did to burn it :

after all the stripping, ripping & rempeg'ing & trimming, I was left with a 4gig mpeg.

I used Ulead DVD Movie Factory to create a DVD image file, added the mpeg, added a menu & chapter points, then set it creating the iso

once iso was done, I burned to DVD using PrimoDVD onto an Infiniti blank, and it plays fine.

One thing I did notice, DVD Factory creates a VIDEO_TS (note the caps) and an AUDIO_TS (again in caps)
The previos DVDs I did either only had VIDEO_TS or video_ts and audio_TS
So, try doing a DVD with both folders in caps :) Worked for me, gonna try another now :)
