problems playing psx1 games

having problems play psx 1 games on my cosole screen is flickering up and down on some bac-ups i have ,can anyone help.

Are the games in PAL or NTSC. If you PSX and TV are NTSC, you need NTSC games.

Here's some other alternatives, go to megagames and find a patch, or you could use Import Player, I believe that should work as well.

how can you tell if you have PAL or NTSC???????

Patch the game with a ntsc/pal selector patch (if you can find one for your game) then reburn it. You will then be able to switch between modes.

c'mon, don't give up that fast - if you entered your location, half the prob could already be solved:
where are you (pal/ntsc region) + what games are you trying to back-up (sles/slus/sces)? if the video mode isn't the same on your game and the tv you're trying to play on, then your screen start flickering or the game plays fine, but only in black and white (the colors, not the game i mean ;) )
and patching aint that hard, all you need is cdrwin, ppf-o-matic and a patch you find at megagames or gamecopyworld

As King Nero asks, where abouts are you? If in North America, you probably have a NTSC machine. If in Europe, psx is likely PAL.

What games are you having trouble with - you'll have to figure out if they're Pal or NTSC games - like King Nero says - look for sles/slus/sces when the game is booting up, or put the disc in your cdrom and see what all the folders on it are named.

If you let us know what games are causing trouble, other people might have also had trouble with those games, and perhaps can share some info on what patches they used to fix problem.

You might want to try downloading a program called import player (download and burn like a regular psx game). Sounds like import player has helped some people get games to work that otherwise don't work.

Ok guys you have twisted my arm ,this is where i am up to now i have downloaded CDRWIN(demo) i have been to mega games and downloaded :import player light,patch-it,pal4u and psx -pal you name it i have got it.

I have read the instruction and tried to do as it says but i just dont under stand it all.

I live in the northwest of uk, the story is i got about a 100 games of a nice chap of the forum half play fine and the other half the screen just flickers.

And my head is totally done in.

folders that are named when i put disk in are:
movies
potter-dir file
system-speed dail
zdummy-dat file
potter-dat file
slus-014.15
us-gam file

press x on the gamepad for foreign games to work on uk psx , that is if they are patched , or change the start menu to pal if its in a default of ntsc and not pal

if they are not patched you could patch them using a pal patch , or you can use a scart lead and play them in colour direct to the tv and forget about patching etc

a scart lead for psx only costs about £4.50
