I have neo 2.2 with ar2v2.I keep having the same problem with mgs2.When I have played as snake,at the end of the first level it saves ok.When I play with raiden, the game plays ok but when I try to save the game just locks up and freezes.The first level I could save with no problems, I realy need help

Using devil may cry to boot with and have used the following dvdr media

Vertabim, Mirror media,Princo and datasafe.I've even got the us version on a verb and that does exactly the same as on my pal versions.

Any Idea's???

I have no idea, cause if it saves ok at the first level u shouldnt have any more problems. Try saving at a different location, or eject and close the tray to see if it helps.

Do u have an official memory card. I heard that there have been some problems with the 16mb 1.

hello mate . i had exactly the same setup and mine does exactly the same. everyone said it was a bad burn i had. but now ive got a messiah and its plays perfect. so prob just a unlucky setup with this game!

Same problem here but I couldn't play the game at all. Even the first FMV would freeze so tilting it helped. then it would freeze again over and over until it froze for good.
That was with a neo2.2 AR2v2.02 PS2v3.
I now have a Messiah and the fella the chipped it for me said that MGS2 boots no worries. Is this strange or what.
All I can say is thankyou for the Messiah and why didn't it work before with the neo2.2.
