removing a psone cd ribbon help

i am trying to remove the lazer unit assembly from my psone. I bought a external vcd player but need to soldier a couple of wires on the main board.i managed to remove the outer case and the the wires that run from the cd lazer to the board but i can't seem to budge the ribbon.:( i am being carful not to bend or tear the ribbon.have tryed wiggling it side to side as i pull up with no joy.

anyone got any tips on how to get it out.

I can also see this as being tough to get back in,any tips on that aswell?

Use a wide smooth pliers and move it side to side as you pull. some of the can be a ***** to get out, once out you should have no problems getting it back in,
