Hopefully someone can help. Got Undying from someone on this board, and it installs perfectly. But I have a problem with the sound.

First, my computer works perfectly. No problems with sound in any other application or game. It's an HP 6745, 700 MHz Celeron with 256 MB of ram. Normal video and sound card, both integrated into the system.

I put in Undying and it'll play w/o problem but at first there's no sound. It starts silent, then sound comes crackling in. Once I finish a section and it loads another, it's silent again, until it comes crackling in.

I installed it on a friends computer, new within the last six months, and the sound works fine.

Any idea why the sound for just this wouldn't work? The game says the sound card should be Diret X 8.0 compatible.... I'm pretty sure it is. I've played Max Payne, No One Lives Forever, Desperadoes, Soldier of Fortune, and Hitman all with no problems.

Anyone have ideas?

i HAD SOund problems as well with that game.I fixed it by updating my video drivers and latest version of direct x.DOesnt make sense to me since its a sound problem but it worked none the less.
ALso make sure your soundcard drivers are up to date as well.
