Anybody know any ?
I've got freeserve at the moment but might change in the near future, hopefully to one that doesn't require reconnection every 2 hours.

Only ones which you pay for per minute will have no cut offs, there are programs which will reconnect you after 2 hours (xp also does it)

AOL UK does not have a cut off time (not that I am aware of as I have seen customers stay on for 13 hrs).
Most will implement one to avoid people from running FTP or Web servers.

Thanks for the replies.

8210:I've got xp and could set it to automatically reconnect me but it just annoys me when I'm d/loading something and get cut off.
I don't really want to pay per minute cos my phone bill would probably be £200 .

duffy90210 :I will have to find more out about AOL. Thanks

I'm with Freeserve, and just get the same service as AOL :(

8210: Win 2000 also does that, but you need to set the option, XP sets it automatically !!!

8210 has a point there , GoZilla took over my web browser , best to use these managers with consideration as to how much you let them do.

I usually disable the clicks option and paste the shortcut to the download direct to the program.

I'm paranoid !!

Thanks for all replies, based on the replies I've had am I right in assuming there isn't a isp which wont dis-connect me after 2 hours ?

At the moment I've got a special offer running with Freeserve (£6.49 a month unlimited use ) but this finishes at the end of April and goes up to £13.99.
I thought about changing when it goes up but after reading the replies I've had I will probably stay with Freeserve and use 'Get Right'.

I use AOL and I say, it's BETTER than BT...... :-Þ

It has cut me off for no reason but that's after being connected for way way more than 2 hours. Connecting sometimes takes a little while but since they don't cut me off every freakin' 2 hours, I'm happy once I'm connected. :)

try onetel.net

go to onetel.co.uk

i stay on for hours at a time, an have even left it on for a coulpe of days in the past to down load stuff, and had no probs at all.. and all for 12.99 a month..

i did have some probs to start, slow downloads, nbut emailed and complained and they put me on a far better line that doesnt get bust even in the 'afterschool' rrush

worth a try,m think they do a free first month too... not sure any more tho..

over all very good tho. (as i say im often on 10am till 12midnite with no probs)

Well all I can say is AOL has been fine with me. no ISP is perfect but I am satisfied with the service AOL provides.

I've been with various ISP's, and am currently with AOL. I have to say that, in the past, the service has been poor, but I'm talking about two years ago.

Since I re-subscribed to AOL last year, it has been fantastic. People are always slagging AOL off, but they're usually people who've never tried them and just say they're pants because everyone else does.

No 'set' cutoff time at all, but I have to say that it does disconnect on the odd occasion, but not very often.

So I would definitely recommend AOL. Good connection speed, too.

This is the best site on the web for listing and reviewing ISP's: http://www.ispreview.co.uk/

That site gives AOL an 8 out of 10 rating (very good - excellent).
