I know dvd+r was supposed to be pretty immiment, but is it out already? These are advertising the media at http://www.cd-rmedia.co.uk/cgi-bin2/cdrmedia/details.pl?id=vdvdr1 (I know they're 5 quid a piece, but they're Verbs, and that's what they charge for Verb dvd-r disks!)

Its faster, but no supported by many drives and DVD Players. New DVD drives support it, but not many DVD Players

DVD+R should work on most dvd players, like dvd-r.

DVD+rw should also work on most dvd players, unlike dvd-rw, which is compatible with fewer.

Some DVD+rw drives should be firmware upgradable to support dvd+r, like the Philips drive, but not all. Apparently Sony's dvd+rw drive will not be upgradable.

Just wondered if +r was actually out yet, or if this shop were just jumping the gun.....

Actually from something I have read recently (though don't quote me on it because its all second hand info) DVD+R isn't as compatable on standalone drives as you think. Supposedly DVD-R actually has better compatability, and even players that are getting released today aren't DVD+R compatable.

Some shops have had DVD+R for sale for a few months now, but I am not sure if there is a drive out that currently supports it.
