View Full Version : Anyone Know of a Hack or a Mod to make an Apex AD-1200 Region/Macrovision Free?

I heard the firmware is upgradeable though, so sit tight for a few months and wait for it to be hacked. Sears is currently selling the APEX 3201 which is upgradeable and it has the macrovision and region free hack through the remote controll straight out of the box. I believe you leave the tray door open and on the remote hit the numbers 8,4,2,1 in that order and that brings up a menu to disable macrovision and region free codes. I bought this player and it skipped like hell, I upgraded the motherboard and the dvd rom drive and now it works perfect. Real nice dvd player now, it plays mp3 (pm3s don't have shuffle though), vcd, dvd, dvd-r,dvd-rw, etc. It supposidly plays almost anything. Try the region/macro hack on your player, it might work.
