How does Paystation MOD-Disk work?

Could someone please tell me how the MOD-Disk work?
does it alow the system to play Back up games?
is there any bad things when using this Disk?

yes, u can play backups

only bad thing is multi-disk games, which will require you to swap on-the-fly just like the plug-mod

Yes you can play backups, except for a few, maybe 0.1% of all PS games.....
