Even though I'm across the pond from you, m8...yes, the X-Box is or already has dropped in the U.K...if you bought one, you can take your receipt in with your serial number and pick up your choice of 2 games and an extra controller, I believe...

best,
jags

The Xbox cut there prices in Europe and Australia.. They didnt touch there prices in Japan or North America though, I guess they want to get the European and Australian Market before Nintendo comes around.

If games are the food of life then if you bought your Xbox before 26th April 2002 prepare for a feast! As you may have read Xbox is coming down in price in the UK to a recommended street price of £199. As a big "THANK YOU" to everyone who bought an Xbox before 26th April we are offering, until 1st July 2002, the chance for you to get 2 games and an Xbox Controller for FREE! That means you could be playing games like Halo, Rallisport Challenge, Project Gotham Racing, Amped, Oddworld or Dead or Alive 3 amongst other great games for free! We are looking to extend the list of games on offer so if you can wait then we'd recommend you check back on this site on April 26th for the full list of games.

So, what do you need to do?

It's very simple. Just download this application form, complete the required details (address, name, games I want, etc.) and email it to xbox@msdirectservices.com. The only qualifying factor is that you bought your Xbox in one of the 16 European launch countries before the 26th April 2002. That's it! We hope you enjoy this opportunity to play more of the great games Xbox has to offer.

Hope this helps you all out! This has come off the uk xbox website.

Cheers Guyz

It's true, i agree. price drop about €200, but only in Europe because microsoft didn't sold enough of these consoles, and now want to make sure the price isn't the main reason why one wouldn't buy it, i think that is what in the newspaper was

They're dropping the price here in Australia because they haven't sold enough. One of our biggest retailers (Harvey Norman) refused to sell them because they beleived the price to be too high. This has probably contributed to poor sales and hence a price drop.

in australia too? lol, microsoft is having bad times i guess...(for xbox at least, their win should make enuf money) In Europe the same thing: they didn't sell enough, hence this major pricedrop (more than 2 fifths of the price (!!) )

they should sell it at 199 in the first place. i mean they sell the xbox for 299 in US, and they sell it for 299 in europe? i dont think the gamer in UK and that rich. i am not sure about the conversion but it's like 400 in US dollors right?

No its 299 USA DOLLARS. No where near 400 bucks. No system could sell at that amount. More so with newbie system companies like MS.

Well thats cool you guys in Oz, and UK get a price drop. I wish we could get one here in the USA. I mean, 300 for an X-Box? Hmmmm....until good games come out, Microsoft wont be getting my money
