I have recently bought a Action Replay 2 V2 Limited Edition to use as a boot disc for my ps2 backups.

The AR2 boots up the PS2 cdr backups no problem but I can't get the dvdr backups to work.

I have tried both the methods of putting in the high TOC dvd ( Devil May Cry ) then selecting Dave Mirra Codes and starting the game with codes but instead of saying "Too many codes" it just starts the game !!

I have also tried just leaving the dvd in the drive until I am about to start the game "without codes" but it still doesn't work any help?

PLeeeaaase!

are u following this exactly-i have no idea i have ar v2 , not limited

Ok for all of you out there who must reply on the knife-swap for booting titles on a version 5 ps2 and using the AR version v this is a fool proof method to boot everything (yes, even DVDr's).
1. Load AR2 V2
2. Select Action Replay Codes
3. Highlight Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX2 code
4. Press start
5. Press eject and insert original DVD (i use DSevil May Cry)
6. Wait about 10 seconds
7. Press 'x' on Withcodes, then 'x' again
8. Erros message appears 'Too many codes' (at this point you will hear the disk stop spinnin')
9. Now perform your tool/knife-swap trick for your CDR/DVDr
10. Press x to confirm the error message
11. Press circle twice to return to main menu
12. Goto 'Start Game', 'Without codes' - press x
13. Game boots.
There you go - hope this helps eveyone who is in the same situation as me.

Like 'chud pud' I have a normal AR2v2 but it should work. Make sure you activate all 63 or whatver codes, if you still don't get the error make loads of nothing codes (eg. 000000000 000000000 etc) until you do get the error, although just activating all the codes should work fine.

I have a similar problem - I once read this version of AR2 does not produce the too many codes error! :(

i dont know about the limited edition ar2 but i had same prob with dave mirra trick and ar2. Instead use armoured core it has 30 codes activated. this should bring up the 2 many codes screen

You have to do the updating codes fast swap.

load up ar2, swap with high TOC game
select new game press x
when the new code screen pops up press x,
now you have a 6 second window to swap out the TOC dvd with your backup as it says "saving changes"
select game without codes and Ka-pow
