I have put 3 vcd films on a dvd-r they play great on the pc and on a dansai dvd player. But when trying to play a pioneers ns-55 dvd player the menu comes up fine the film starts playing but looks all bloack and like the screen is very bright colours not right .The pioneers plays the media fine because i have some other films burnt on the same media (they r straight dvd copy of originals) also a svcd to dvd-r movie plays fine just the vcd onto dvd-r format any ideas thanks

any ideas?

I've had the same problem with 3 vcds on a dvdr but I cant even get it to play right on my dansai player !!!!!! keeps flickering at bottom of screen.

what media DVDr did you use ? cos I think its down to the media not playing properly in certain players....

When re-encoding to MPEG2 try a full resolution of 720x576 you have to cut down the bit rate a bit though but I find compatibility is higher!

I have been trying to do this for ages, with out success.
Could u please give us some info on, what software u r using,
what bit rate and so on.
I can get 1 movie to work on the dansai which has been converted
to dvd pal. But i have never been able to put VCD onto a dvd.
