When I try to burn any kind of CD using a Ricoh MP7040A under WinXP. 7 out of 10 times the burn process fails. Now, if I boot up WinME every CD burns fine.

Any suggestions, as I'm sick of booting into WinME all the time just to burn a CD.

Edit (21/04/2002) - I am using Nero V5.5.8.0.

you can use the new aspi files for xp for a start, and disable the xp burning utility. then remove and redetect if necessary
I have the rw7080a and it works so if nothing else works, see if there is a firmware update for your burner.

Make sure that DMA is enabled in XP for one thing, also check the VXD's listed here
