i'm using nero to burn my files, but recently all the files i put on cd change to upper case, and stay that way when i return them to the hard drive..is there any way to avoid this, and if not is there a way of changing back to lower case?

Unfortunately once there burned to the CD there's no way of knowing what the original case was, the info is lost. In addition by default, Explorer displays uppercase 8.3 DOS-style filenames with all lowercase except the first character. For example README.TXT is displayed as Readme.txt. For non DOS filenames the display is not changed. This can be turned of by a registry setting in all Windows version and from the View-->Folder Options, View tab in Win98.

However, to solve your problem, in the future select the Joliet file option, which should maintain the case.
