I have just purchased a webcam and i think they are fantastic however i need some advice on how to compress large video clips so its quicker to send them over the net to my friends in canada as an avi clip that lasts about 1mins in total is about 4 megs in size which on my 56k modem takes around 30mins to send. Are there any ways of compressing these files if so what program is needed.

What codec are you using?? Try using 2pass Xvideo or DivX to reduce the file size.
