I'm running win xp and using kaspersky anviral toolkit pro (AVP) which has picked up two infected files, infected with the Trojan.Win32.Vise virus. unfortunately, the programms is unable to disinfect my files "c:\system volume information\_restore{2b32a7da-4e.............\A0007649.exe}" is one of them.. not sure what the other is as it doesn't say
i tried both lockdown millenium pro and trojan remover pro, both of them failed to even DETECT the trojan despite me setting scanning sensitvity to highest and scanning all my dirs and system areas
a search on google came up empty
someone help me PLEASE, would it be safe to delete the files using kaspersky AVP? somehow i can't even navigate to c:\system volume information\
please reply ASAP! much appreciated :zombie:

You should use The Cleaner. Get it here: http://www.moosoft.com
I'm gonna move this to the computer security forum for more info.

thanks liru
:(
i did what u said, downloaded the cleaner, updated the definitions, scanned at full senstivity including all the file extensions - nothing. couldn't detect it.
AVP monitor is the only thing so far that detects it, but can't disinfect it - the pop up box tells me that that's a dangerous situation and to run AVP on demand scanner to scan my c: and disinfect all viruses.. but when i run AVP on demand scanner it doesn't pick it up either! its the same programme, running on the same database.. and the monitor picks it up while the scanner doesn't?
i don't know what's going on
i don't really dare to delete the file without knowing what it is and whether it'll screw up my system. can anyone help?

Liru was right about "The Cleaner", but if that will not find it check out the Symantec website for a specialist trojan remover - enter the exact name of the one you found and it should come up with a little tool "just" for that trojan if you are lucky.
If their is one it will get rid of it, no question.
Try at :- http://www.symantec.com/

I just checked the Symantec knowledge base (as I had not heard of this one before) and there is no known virus or trojan of that name m8.
Are you sure you have the correct name?
