I am thinking of getting the deal from pipex £23.?? an month. I would pay the £129 inc for the modem but I was wondering if there was any different modems that will still be compatible with Pipex? If so can somebody recommend a good place to buy one from?

If it was me I would go for Nildram... as they are a good ISP.

Pipex have been having lots of problems recently.

u can get a pci adsl modem from www.dabs.com for under £60 which works fine with pipex! u'll still need to buy a filter though..cost around a tenner i think

I've got the Dabs PCI modem (conexant chipset) £54 and am with Pipex.
Great little modem, d/l speeds between 45-70kbps (depending on what time of day!). Doesn't perform any worse than the one supplied by pipex, PCI modems are generally considered to be more stable than usb.
There's no benefit of getting their USB one (unless you don't have a free pci slot I suppose!).

Yes it is as someone on this board are already using the pipex service with these hardwares.

I'm going the get the adsl modem from dabs too.

You only need 1 micro filter.. it just changes the socket thing on your wall.

But I still say go with Nildram.
