Can any one help me with this?
For some reason I’m unable to erase a CDRW. I’ve tried both Nero and CloneCD, but to no avail. I’m using a Lite-On LTR 24102B and the media is Memorex 4x CDRW.
Having gone through the process of erasing a CDRW, I find that I can still access all the files on the CD! They are still there!
I had this trouble once before but I can’t remember the solution. I think someone here gave me the answer.
Please help.

Not sure if my experience is useful or not.
I have a Plextor 16x10x40 CDRW drive. I was able to write to a 10x CDRW media and then tried to erase the CDRW using various programs. But I still am able to access the CDRW disc. Turns out that it was my CDRW drive that was the problem. I had it replaced (it's still under warranty) and now I can erase my 10x CDRW discs (I had tried erasing the CDRW using Nero, CloneCD, even SuperBlank and many other shareware/trial programs with 2 different 10x CDRW media).
So it may be your drive that has become defective.

To Ray-Comp,
Up to now, I’ve been doing a ‘quick’ erase. For some reason, it just don’t work for me. This morning I did a ‘full’ erase and that did the trick. It blanked the disk. The only problem is, it takes so long to do a full erase. Over 20 minutes on the Lite-On.
I was wondering if any one knew of a program that would erase a CDRW quickly when doing a ‘full’ erase?
Thanks for the reply.

To dta.
Thanks for the input.
I don’t think it a faulty drive. Works ok when I do a ‘full’ erase. I think it’s more of a ‘media’ compatibility problem. The only problem is, Memorex is the only CDRW media I have at the moment to try. I’ll have to get other brands to try.
Thanks.
Jess

The speed of both quick and full erase is dependent on the speed of your burner not the software.
