To start with, this should be in the comsumers forum.
Also, you do not spec your location, 'how on earth' can people recommend you of where to buy ? :)

try www.ebuyer.com, I would personally go for the 7200rpm version myself

Buy the 7200RPM 60GB IBM DeskStar.

Might cost a little more but you get what you pay for.

No offence codger, but IBM Deskstars have a really really bad reputation and high failure rate, m8.

I have one - the 40GB IBM Deskstar 7200 GXP, and it's failed on me THREE times in the last year. I know I have the option of sending it back to IBM, but is it worth all the hassle?!

Everybody I've spoken to in forums and chatrooms about the Deskstars have told me how bad they are, and now I know first-hand.

Cmid - if you want the best and can stretch to it, go for a Maxtor. They are reputed to be the best out there

If you want the fastest Harddrive go with a Western Digital Caviar Special Edition but the smallest one they do is a 80GB version

Go for the 7200RPM hard drive and over 80 gig.
