I have one - the 40GB IBM Deskstar 7200 GXP, and it's failed on me THREE times in the last year. I know I have the option of sending it back to IBM, but is it worth all the hassle?! Everybody I've spoken to in forums and chatrooms about the Deskstars have told me how bad they are, and now I know first-hand. Cmid - if you want the best and can stretch to it, go for a Maxtor.
