Can anyone help please. I have purchased a brand new 16/10/40A Plextor CD Writer but it will not read CD+G. It copies the music but not the pictures. I'm using all the correct software and rips because I also have an HP Writer which does the job fine. I've been assured that all Plex's are CD+G compatible. This drive has been changed once because I thought the first one was faulty (Obviously Not)

Could this be something to do with my hardware settings I wonder. Any help would be gratefully apreciated as I paid quite a lot of money for this device.

Thanks Guys & Gals

!! If at first you don't succeed, try try again :-) ARGRrrrGGGHHHHHHHHHH!

I've just had a look at the cloneCD site and according to them the 1610a and the 1210a(ide version) are the only plexy's that do not support sub channel reading which is what you need to read cdg disks.:(

Thanks all you guys for replying to this thread. I'd just like to point out that the Plex wull copy a CD&G disc from another drive directly. My problem is that once I have ripped the discs, the plex will not record from my computer hard disc. The program 'Cavs' is reporting that my plex is not CD&G compatible. This is really strange because it picks my USB HP Writer up fine. I have the plex connected to the secondary master socket on the mother board and confirgured as 'Master'. My HP is connected to the USB and I have an ordinary 52 X drive connected to the mother board as 'Slave'. I wonder if I get a scsi card whether it will make any difference if I connect my Plex to that?

Also, the hard drive adapters are showing as 'CD/DVD on my other Drives, but the plex shows as 'Cd Rom' only. Any help very much appreciated.

Regards
