I have problem whith Plextor12/1032A When I write cdr then it write Ok, but when cdr is writed then computer crash down. Ounly restart restart help. When computer is restarted then bios detects no Cd-Rw. When I takes power of my computer then writer is back. What the problem is and what i can do about it.
The problem is ounly my motherboard (Abit Kg7-Lite) Plextor 12/10/32A firmaware is 1.09 . I tried to use different programs (Nero, WinonCd, Clone, Clony...)

It sounds like a hardware set up or conflict problem. I'm not an XP user so I can't help much with the settings, but in Device Manager check the burner's properties, DMA & disconnect should be enabled.
Also check for hardware conflicts, any devices with a conflict should be removed via the hardware manager & then reboot your PC.

I remember seeing something about cd writers on the microsoft xp download section. look there for a service patch. hope I am right.
