microsoft office has disappeared,tried reinstalling,now i'm getting an error message saying,msi.dll222 file connected to msiexec.exe is missing or not fucntioning any ideas anyone?:hdspin:

Anyway, apparently its a problem with windows installer so you might download the latest version from microsoft. Beware you may have the following problem and below is the solution i read someplace ...

When I installed Windows Installer, it was updating the files msiexec.exe and msihnd.dll with the latest versions, but not msi.dll for some reason. That mismatch apparently was producing the error message. The solution, rename those three files(msi.dll to msi.old,etc...) and then reinstall Windows Installer. The catch, you can't rename them while you are in Windows, you have to reboot in native Dos to do so. Once you do that, the Windows Installer installs itself normally, and then you can proceed to install the other program that requires the Windows Installer for its own installation.
