As above have just installed XP home edition onto my E: drive having kept 98 on my C: drive.

Is there any way of registering all the progs I have on my C drive with XP without having to reinstall all 60 or so of them. I tried Exporting registry settings in 98 and importing them to XP but this caused all sorts of probs as the registries are configured differently.

Reinstalling the progs in the same folder works but is very time consuming.
Any ideas?

Some appz will run without reinstalling...utilities, games etc.. But all others have to be installed in both OS's

You will be surprised how many programmes will work with out being re installed/registered, just create short cuts and try. Some will ask for your reistration no. Of the programmes i use, only office and norton utils need to be re installed ( i only use about 20 though) . Even soundforge and paintshop pro work without being re installed, as well as most burn progs.

System apps like Anti-Virus, Firewalls, Office and programs like that have to be installed twice.

Some games like C+C Red Alert 2 (ones with serials) have to be installed twice.
