ive looked in device manager (win 98 ) and it says the floppy is workin ok yet it wont exept floppys i removed it and the lights came on on the floppy drive yet it still wont exept any disks im trying to format and i need this drive ????????????????? pleeeeeez help im in trubble deeep !!!
is it any the bios??? how do i set up up correct so it has floppy support???:confused: :confused:

You can check into BIOS. Press required key combination during sstartup to enter into it. Look into "Advanced BIOS" settings or similar. Remove read only mode of floppy for working under Windows.

You can also try holding Shift key or F8 key during Win Startup and select Command Prompt Only from the boot menu. Try accessing your floppy from command prompt.

Enter "A:" to change the current drive.
Give some of the DOS commands like "DIR", etc. just to verify it works under DOS.

Does it read any floppy disks?
