This may sounds a bit confuse, i hope i explained it well:

When my ps2 is fully on 'means the green lights on', the cd-tray will always try to eject itself automatically..
Whatever disc i put it, CD-R, DVD-R, and even original DVD GAME!, once i push the cd-tray back in, it pops up again like a second.
When i hold down the reset switch, the cd-tray will close automatically, but if i press reset to turn the machine on again, the cd-tray just pops open again.
I have been trying to address the problem but i cannot. What is the general idea cause this to happen? I got this ps2 from mail, could it be damage due to banging or dropping?
please help
The PS2 model: SCPH-30006R with mod chipped

if u really want to help, i can send u a 4MB video, make by myself, which will explain the situation more clearly.
Please u if really can help me to find out the cause, contact:

I think this posibilities is highlighted.
No, i am sure the button ribbon cable is detect, and i lifed up the whole DVD-rom a bit and check all the cable are connect.
I am not sure there is something in the mahine stopping the dvd rom running, but it pops open again every time after 1 second the cd-tray is close manually.
Do u want to take a look of my 4 MB video i have record, may be u understand it more.
Please at a look at it

You didn't say what the Mod chip was:
"The PS2 model: SCPH-30006R with mod chipped "

Try unpluggin it from wall fora full minute, not ten seconds, plug back in & see if this does it.
