hi
ive just bought a 2nd hand pc from a mate and i want to reformatt my harddrive. it has a partition on it c and d . it runs win95. i dont have a win 95 cd but i do have win98 cd which is what i want to install. The pc has 32mb of RAM and about 4.5gb hard drive
Can any help me please?

ps when i tried to make a startup disk it said insert win95 cd(Which i dont have!) will win98 tartup disk do the trick?

yes a win98 will do the trick. if you want to remove the partitions you will have to use fdisk to delete the existing partitions then recreate a new partition that uses all the hd as one drive.

when restarts i get invalid system disk please insert disk....etc

Change to the CD drive (if you boot from CD) or A: (if you use a bootdisk) then type sys c: . That'll transfer the system files to the HD.

But what you really need to do is to change to the CD drive that you have the Windows CD then run Windows setup.
