View Full Version : How do I install W98SE & Keep XP

May 06, 2002, 02:30 AM
I replaced 98se with XP pro & have had a bug free life since doing this. Big problem though is that I have a matrox marvel graphics card (18 months old) that matrox will not provide xp drivers for, so I need to reinstall 98se so that i can video edit. Is there a way that i can now reinstall 98se and make my system dual boot.

I know its possible if 98 is installed first but I don't want to uninstall XP and start again now that my systems running like a dream!

Is 98 on drive C and XP on drive D?

Well if it is I found the answer for you.

Press F8 when ur pc in POST procuder then choose prompt only run setup rom there run the o/s will asked u to chose to overwrite or not.

I don't know if that will work since I got it from someone else.

If not try going into DOS (you'll need a boot disk) and then try to overwrite win 98 using the setup disk.

Sorry the post may be a bit inaccurate. I have only got XP on the c drive at the moment and want to install 98se as dual boot. 98 isn't actually on at the moment
