View Full Version : on board graphics [msi; 6340; winXP]

i am using the on board graphics, which can use upto 32mb of system memory, however it is only using 8mb at the moment, how do i increse this to 32mb, i have all the latest updates from msi, any help would be appreciated, many thanks

Do you have the latest version of Direct X? Are you using the right drivers for it?

I would guess you really have 384MB of memory onboard, and the VGA is now sharing 8MB from the total, the memory size for onboard VGA are normally set in the BIOS, Direct-X and video drivers really has not much link with the memory size.

Try looking in the BIOS setup, they are normally hidden under the options.

sorted - finally found it in the bios, frame buffer size, now using the full 32mb, you would not beleive the number of times i have been through all the bios settings, we all live and learn - many thanks to those that took the time to help me out - whos a happy boy then

Yes, its one of those things in life, you can see them everyday when its not needed, but come time you do, they just hide from you :)
