Ok, recently while using my computer
I booted it up and Blammo, no more USB

this is themessage i get under the device manager

Your computer's system firmware does not include enough information to properly configure and use this device. To use this device, contact your computer manufacturer to obtain a firmware or BIOS update.

i have no idea how this could have happened though
I didn't change any hardware or software
just simply shut it down one night, booted it the next day and now my Firmware evidentally doesn't want to let me use the usb no more....

anyone have a clue of how to this could have happpened?

i'm going to try to upgrade my firmware, i'm not experienced enough to screw with the bios so i don't really want to flash it

Upgrading firmware/bios requires flashing, too! :)

Try removing the USB Universal Host Controller in Device Manager and reboot.

What's your motherboard's chipset?

Have you checked in the BIOS, incase if USB got disabled or somethin.... ?
