I have an old psx, and a buddy of mine is selling is a ps2 w/out the video/sound cables for only $150. Will my psx's video cable plug into the ps2?

yes it will fit, but most likely your ps1 cable has gotten a tad worn out, and wont stay in the socket as comfortably/firmly...atleast in my case it didnt
