I have Modded my V5 PS2 with a combo of the R-Mod and S-Box and it works like a charm! It plays ALL DVDr/Silver, CDr/Silver, and UNpatched EA games fine!

Strong work! If only an R-Mod type chip would come out for a V3!!

Sounds like a good chip and far easier to install than Messiah (no disrespect to the excellent chip).

Just as I said before, I will inform those who needs info of how it'll turn out with the combo after I installed both of the chips, and I did...

i have an r-mod installed. i own a neo-key but i lost the wire that came with it. anyone know what kind of little diode or whatever that is on the wire that comes with it? i would like to have the neokey+r-mod combo since i've heard so many great things about it.

I think you can use a kynar wire and you can get 'em from Radio Shack (I heard some people say on this board)

So are you positive this works? Do u still have to patch?

It's a really good combo for those who don't want to pay Messiah's prices. Only problem is that you need the rare and expensive GS 1.93.

is the 1.93 the only gameshark that will boot dvdr's with this setup

1.91 and 2.01 work but 1.93 is the easiest.

Allow me to show my ignorance. I have only the No-Solder Mod (by the way, why's that called an R-Mod?) Anyhow, what makes the S-Key so great that one would want BOTH installed? What great new features do you get from this combo? Does it allow you to get past the 630 MB file size limit? Does it boot DVD-R faster than the R-Mod?

Forgive my tone. I'm not being sarcastic. I seriously want to know....may consider adding an S-Box myself.

Thanks in advance,

MasterGHP
