you can only play games that have the system link feature.

go to www.xbconnect.com for the program

well it is really simple,

d/l the program, and install.

open the program, and go to options, find xbox (make sure xbox is looking for games screen is on)

go to join game, and the rooms are at the top ofthe screen, and it looks like using mIRC.

find an open game ans join, its that easy

also if you have a router or firewall, make sure you have port 8602 open!

wouldnt the xbox need some kind of internet sharing wizard if u are connecting it through a PC. ie, i have broadband into my pc then back out to a hub with 2 other pc,s connected to the hub, and to get the other pc's to work you need to run the internet connection wizard to say that they connect through another machine. so wouldnt you have to do something similar if u are doing the same with a xbox??

I use XBConnect and it works like a dream unlike Gamespy's software which doesn't seem to be very USB modem friendly. :(

A friend as just got set-up with ADSL yesterday and he's having trouble getting online with HALO, i'm connected from XBOX to PC via Crossover cable going into a network card, he uses a Conexant router which also doubles as his modem....as anyone managed to get the XBOX online using the CONEXANT router, BTW he's also with PIPEX ADSL sevice.

Cheers for any help. :)

Are you using CROSSOVER cable?

i go online, i have cable connection, i connect my cable modem to my 2 port router, from there i connect to a 4 Port Netgear Hub, Then uplink it to another 4 Port Netgear HUB, the first hub is connected to 2 of my xbox, and 1 laptop , the other 3 are for my 3 desktop........

now they are all linked, so just use one of the computers to get a game on and they will locate my xbox....

SO AS LONG AS YOUR COMPUTER HAS ACCESS TO BOTH THE XBOX AND THE INTERNET, your all set to go!

also if you guys want to play me contact me at

blazinvtdragon00@aol.com

or look for me on gamespy under

You can play online with Xbox backups no problem at all, something to remember, most backups are NTSC, if you are in the UK you will be mostly playing against the Americans so your ping aint gonna be to good. Now wondering how many people in the UK are using backups to play, i aint seen that many.

Peace
