I just got a new Pioneer 104 and I'm attempting to backup my first DVD movie. I have a few single layer DVD's and I heard they were the easiest to rip so I thought I would start there. I have a few questions about using smart ripper.

From dvdr2dvdr.com:

Click on the all button just below all the files. Assign it a target folder to rip all of the files to. When you are done it will have created a folder in the target called VIDEO_TS (If it didn't create a VIDEO_TS folder and it called it something else, rename that folder to VIDEO_TS). No folders were created in the target folder when I ripped the dvd. Only 13 seperate files? The VIDEO_TS folder will have all of the ripped files stored in it. In the target folder create a folder called AUDIO_TS. What do I put in the "AUDIO_TS" folder after I create it? The only 2 things in the target folder should be VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS. Caps is very important. On some DVD players it will work with lower case. On others if it is not capatalized it won't play it.

The files created in the target folder were:

VIDEO_TS.BUP, VIDEO_TS.IFO, VIDEO_TS.VOB, VTS_01_0.BUP, VTS_01_0.IFO, VTS_01_0.VOB, VTS_01_1.VOB, VTS_01_2.VOB, VTS_01_3.VOB, VTS_02_0.BUP, VTS_02_0.IFO, VTS_02_0.VOB, VTS_02_1.VOB

I want to make sure everything is in order before I use Primo to burn.

Thanks for any help :)

if the files you have ripped are in a directory just rename that directory VIDEO_TS and just make a directory called AUDIO_TS nothing has to be in this directory.
if the files are not in a directory just make a VIDEO_TS and move all the files ripped into it.

Comercial DVD's are copyrighted... For a general use drive, such as a 104, you still need to rip them, even if they are only DVD 5's.

I did as yinyan said and everything went fine. I just thought that if you were making an AUDIO_TS file something should go in it. Apparently not though because the movie burned fine and all features work.
