Given that I couldn't register before now because of the whole cookies-related issue, and that I've been reading on this post for about a month now and feeling thankful for all the help I've found ever since I wanted to buy a DC, I only have one question that I couldn't find an answer to before. Anyways... Enough with the fuss. :)

I have a NTSC DC that will play backups fine. I only want to know what I'd have to do, if there's something to do, to play JAP and PAL backups on it. Thanks.

depending on the game, they're usually pre-patched to run on other systems, or there is a patch that is released that can be applied yourself. check www.dccopyworld.com for patches
