Attreu May 10, 2002, 03:29 PM Just bought my XBOX today after hearing news of the chip.
I was wondering can you do a straight copy of the backups or is the only possibilty downloading the iso and burning from there.
Asking cos i live in Ireland and theres no sign of affordable broadband here yet.
I dont want to have to buy all the games as i have to supply to a few people and would prefer to make the copies myself.
Backupz 4 All May 10, 2002, 04:11 PM so far no one besides px and riot know how to copy originals
AFSTER May 10, 2002, 04:25 PM I hope u are happy with the Xbox m8. The games will be ripped by px and riot and then probably put on the Internet as Iso images and then we can download them and burn them like games for Dreamcast ;)
Attreu May 10, 2002, 04:33 PM Thanks for the info but i'll rephrase the question.
When i buya backup froma member of the board can i use my PC to copy that backup?
I dont want to have to buy 5 backupsof the same game (in case i scratch 1) if i could buy 1 and copy that myself.
dvdr May 10, 2002, 04:34 PM Yes you can do a 1:1 copy of the backups...just like all other backups.
Backupz 4 All May 10, 2002, 04:42 PM use clone cd to make a 1:1 copy...
works all the time
Bungle123 May 10, 2002, 05:04 PM majority of the games are going to be on dvdr mate

latin_lover607 May 10, 2002, 05:19 PM yes you can ?
i have a question can you copy a ps2 dvdr copy
like 1:1?
Game Master May 10, 2002, 06:50 PM r u sure??? i burned a copy of shrek today on a cdrw just to see the files, but when i pop it back in the pc it doesnt show anything... it basically doesnt read the sectors or something... i read somewhere that the files are unreadable under windows... if this is the case, then you cant do a straight copy unless you get the prog for reading them. again, this is my first burn and i could be completely wrong. just sharing my info
Kokaine May 10, 2002, 07:00 PM what kinda dvd burner do you think you'll need to burn games do you think it'll work with a Pioneer A03 burner?
Attreu May 10, 2002, 07:10 PM No didn't pay retail.
cost me €20 thats twenty.
once off.
and Game Master that what i've heard.
I'd like to hear from someone who has downloaded a game and made a 1:1 copy of it.
Discwizard May 10, 2002, 09:57 PM You CAN copy a Xbox COPY! It doesn't matter if they are CDR or DVDR. How do I know?........Because I have done it. They are just simple ISO files, CloneCD copies the CD ones fine, and Nero copies the DVD ones fine, so as far as making a backup of a backup, you CAN do that.
It is no where near that for acopy of an original (store bought) game, for that we need to leave the ripping to the experts-for now.
Attreu May 11, 2002, 01:01 PM Thanks lads,
I think its time i got myself a DVD burner.
bladerunner86uk May 18, 2002, 04:28 PM the Pioneer A03 and A04 both burn xbox ISOs without any problem, and you can just use normal ol' Nero to burn them with.
kez m May 19, 2002, 12:24 PM the disks will not show up in the pc drive anyway its a different file system so it will look like theres no information on it
