Does this player play MP3 on DVDR media. All DVD players play MP3 that are recorded on CDR. What I am looking for is a DVD player that will play MP3's on DVD-R (4.7Gb) of MP3's.

Not all DVD players play mp3. What you will find is that if a DVD player is capable of playing DVD-R disks (check http://www.vcdhelp.com/dvdplayers.php ) and plays mp3s then it will almost certainly play mp3 burned to DVD-R.
The problem you may encounter is that the firmware of many players will only recognise a limited number of mp3s on a single disk eg 500.

Was also looking at getting a DVD player that plays MP3s from DVD-R. My Scan SC 2000 won't play ball, and it'd be nice to have a dvd with 80 albums on that plays through the DVD player via the Hi-Fi. Geobon - The Dansia, has it got an mp3 file limit as mentioned above? - Also, has it got more than 8 chars displayed on the menu for each Mp3? - cheers for any advice.

Tescos do still sell the dansai but not via their website. You have to go into one of their stores and buy one. The same player is branded as 'Technica' in some other stores at a cost of £120 but if you live in the US you are probably better off getting something like an Apex machine.

Your right. I sent an email to Apex to find out some information about thier DVD players. I will post thier answer when they get back to me.

OK...ive been asking this question for a few months now and now i see its possible to burn mp3's to dvd-r and play them on a dvd player. it also appears that the dvd player has to be capable to of seeing them. My next question is, how do you guys that burn mp3's to dvd-r actually do it? What software, what settings, etc.
Cheers,
HaZ

Burned a DVDR full of MP3s using VOB data disk option - burnt at 1x - The Dansai does not recognise it - Disk error. Any help on how to burn the DVDR so the player will recognise the mp3 files would be GREATLY appreciated.
