Whats the difference between these two formats?

The writers are about the same price, and the disks are aswell. I heard that DVD+R is the most compatabil with existing hardware, ? does this include consoles??

Cheers.

Where have u seen the disks going for the same price???? I can get DVD-R disks for $1.25. I have never seen DVD+R anywhere below 6. DVD+R is supposed to be more compatible with DVD players, but I think its just the opposite. DVD+R is faster to burn, and uses packet writing, but all the advantages stop there.

If you are doing PS2 games you need DVD-R. The industry at this point is mor in favor of -R as well. Most people (if not all the regulars) have -R.

I don't know abotu x-box but you can't use DVD+R on PS2. Most people don't buy the expensive stuff anyway if they know what they are doing. Tehre is no point.

There are 2 types of disks authoring and general. If I remember right only the older more expensive types use DVD authoring disks. ITs used for masters for DVD-Silvers.
