Dwhitt May 14, 2002, 12:24 PM Yeh but when can we play online without the use of a pc. when can we just hook it up to a phone line and just play? Also does it have to be broadband as i live in an area without broadband, i just have a 56kbs modem! mitsu50 May 14, 2002, 01:46 PM Originally posted by Dwhitt Yeh but when can we play online without the use of a pc. when can we just hook it up to a phone line and just play? Also does it have to be broadband as i live in an area without broadband, i just have a 56kbs modem! so far the games you can go online with require a huge amount of bandwidth to avoid lag. trying to play with a 56k connection would be just awefull. for example Halo requires a minimum of 128k upload speed, and for a good experience, and for optimal should be around 256k upload. i also remember reading that MS had no intention of making online servie available to 56k connections jcwacky May 14, 2002, 02:30 PM i played halo on my 64k isdn connection and it was a bit jutty be still playable KaneRobot May 14, 2002, 07:01 PM On Gamespy, Halo is somewhat laggy, but if you have a solid connection (meaning cable, or preferably better), and some luck, you can get quite a bit of enjoyment out of it. Anyone try THPS3 on Gamespy yet? I'm assuming it probably isn't as laggy as Halo because it wouldn't need as much information going upstream...but what do I know? |
