Just bought a a04 and wondered if it can play any region out of the box, ive just upgraded the firmware to 1.20 bu tit still refuses to read some dvd's to the end and comes up with an error, is nero the only software to copy dvd's

I have one but your software is what usually gets set to a specific region, so I would guess it plays any out of the box, but your software will force you to pick only one.

As far as backing up DVD's, read richardc's FAQ at the top of this forum. It is comprehensive.

Where did you get the new firmware from m8?
